Protocols, Procedures & POSITIVE RIPPLES

7/28/20 - 8:30 a.m.

After the most recent shutdown, we took a mindful break and chose a PAUSE-ATIVITY approach. We spent time creating a sustainable plan so we may continue to provide that ultimate, UPLIFT experience during these unprecedented, ever-changing times. It's easy to just think of us as a yoga studio or a space for mindful meditation. What we really are is a COMMUNITY —a place to gather, connect and help each other.

We are beyond excited to present to you, our brand new baby, the UPLIFT Pavilion!

A summerhouse or other decorative building used as a shelter in a park or large garden (or in our case, a parking lot!)

Our UPLIFT Pavilion will be located in the parking lot of our studio. It will include a custom-made 1200 square-foot covered space, turf flooring, outdoor sound system and social distance spacing.

We are thrilled about this sweet space, our indoor alternative, and our ability to join as a community in a safe manner.

We intend to have a robust schedule and are aware that needs may be different for our students in these times and in our new setting. Our August 1st thru August 7th schedule will be a trial week. We will have a diverse schedule to see what works for you and our community along with the elements. The following week will be a set schedule that embodies our findings. Our trial week will be up in MindBody tomorrow and reserving classes and checkin- in will remain the same under our COVID-19 procedures.

Please stay tuned-in via social-media and our COVID-19 page on our website this week for announcements, pics and more.

While it was a necessary break for our team to create an experience that we could be proud of, we are itching to get back to our sweating and stretching and community building. We want to elevate your mood in our current world. It is our priority that you receive an UPLIFTing, soul-nourishing experience. The count-down is on! 6 days! We got this UPLIFT!

7/17/20 - 7 p.m.

So much of the work that I do as a yoga instructor is teaching students to take a pause in order to be mindful along their pursuit to wellness. To take the pause for self care rather than barreling through to burn out. To take a pause before making a big decision so they can tune into their intuition and hear their soul's voice. To pause from forcing their body to move a certain way when it's begging for something else. To take a pause when they wake up rather than propel into the day full speed. To take the pause to notice if they are directing their energy in a way that is serving them.

So wherever you are, at this moment, we invite you to pause with us.

In order for the UPLIFT team to better serve you, we are placing value on an intentional pause.

We will be closed for a breather until July 31st.

During this time we will not only have an opportunity to take some much needed rest, we will also be crafting a mindful, sustainable and deliberate plan for our beloved UPLIFT community and it's future offerings. We have crafted options for your membership during this short break (see below).

We will be announcing our plans and offerings to you on July 27th and we will reopen in some way, shape or form (hey we are yogis, we're flexible) on August 1st.

There is so much power in a mindful moment and although we may not always realize it, our wellness depends on it.

7/13/20 - 6:30 p.m.

In light of the news we received today from Governor Newsom, we are working diligently as a team to figure out how we can provide the maximum amount of services in a safe way. Please give us the grace of a few days to craft the best and most appropriate plan. We will be communicating about class schedules, memberships, and all of the how’s, what’s, when and where’s shortly.

I feel strongly that we need each other and the practices that UPLIFT offers to cultivate mental, emotional, immune and physical health.

We will be in touch soon with how to move forward. On behalf of myself and our staff we thank you for your messages and love. Let’s keep the positive vibes coming.

7/13/20 - 1:15 p.m.

Per Governor Newsom's announcement today we are cancelling all UPLIFT studio classes effective immediately.

We will be in touch via Social Media, our website and email about next steps by end of day.

Please take a moment and send some positive energy to our home away from home, our sanctuary.

Welcome Home to your friendly neighborhood studio, your cozy cocoon

At UPLIFT, our goal is to be an unending source of positivity. A light that's always shining.

We believe in the power of small gestures. A warm greeting. Eye contact. The unexpected compliment. A small moment of compassion. Spontaneous laughter. A smile as genuine as our love for yoga.

We want to remind people to slow down. To look up from their screen. To pause, reflect and reconnect – both to themselves and others.

By now, we are all more than aware that mental and emotional health are critical to our well-being. However, the time and energy we spend on our practice is a non-negotiable investment in our quality of life.

UPLIFT was built on a foundation of yoga, sweat, heart and community. We are beyond hopeful for our future as an UPLIFT community and we will continue to lead and plan and make decisions for our yoga family with all of the tools, grit, and soul we have. We have been working tirelessly on the back-end to create a safe, comfortable and healthy home for us and we hope you can feel the energy and positive vibes we have set as we come back together in our sanctuary.

As in much of life, ending and closing can be abrupt and painful, but opening takes time and heart. Doing this for our yoga home is no different. It might feel a bit overwhelming. But trust us, as soon as that first bead of sweat drops, you'll find yourself wrapped in the comfort of the place you know and love.

Every little, positive thing we do creates a ripple. And over time, each ripple spreads throughout our community. Make enough ripples, and you create a wave of hope and healing that can spread far beyond our studio doors. WE ARE UPLIFT.

We ask that you read this page in its entirety when planning to attend classes.

Please visit this page frequently for the most up-to-date information, because if anything, we have learned through COVID-19, that we cannot control or imagine what our circumstances might be next week, let alone next month.

Fresh and Squeaky Clean

We have always been dedicated to the cleanliness of our studio and the health and safety of our community. We are doing all of the below along with our already stringent cleaning protocols!

While you were away, we had our entire facility professionally cleaned, scrubbed and sanitized (thank you to STAR Carpet & Tile Care)!

Now that we are sparkling clean, we have also disinfected every nook and cranny (thank you to Martin Commercial Services)!

We will continue to use this top-grade disinfectant with electrostatic distribution as we move forward. This process, along with the use of a hospital grade, non-toxic disinfectant allows us to spray evenly, gets tough-to-reach spots, clings to every surface it coats, and is proven to kill viruses like COVID-19. Staff will use this on surfaces in all common areas before and after check-ins, with a special attention to high-touch surfaces.

We are providing hands-free, sanitizer dispensers throughout the studio for increased use.

Before You Get Your Sweat On

ALL students will need to fill out a new liability waiver form stating that you agree to the health and safety parameters put in place by our government. You can find the form here, or on our UPLIFT APP. This must be done before registering for your first in-studio class.

Every staff member will wear face coverings and undergo complete daily health checks including monitoring temperatures before shift.

Reserve Your Class

We'll open our doors to our current, ACTIVE unlimited and class card members first, as a token of appreciation for your loyalty.

To ensure you get a spot in class we won't be allowing drop-ins or new students for the first two weeks.

Please limit your in-studio class attendance to 1 class per day to make sure we can all get our sweat on. We promise to revisit this frequently as protocols loosen.

In-person class size is SIGNIFICANTLY limited to accommodate 6 ft social distancing guidelines.

Not eligible for in-person classes? Please reactivate your membership (by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or purchase an unlimited package online and lock in your low rate!

Your unlimited class packages will include classes in our physical studio and our OnDemand Library.

All students will need to reserve their space in class at our website or on our UPLIFT APP. You can register for a class up to 7 days before the class. Registration closes 30 minutes prior to class.

There will be a 4 hour cancellation policy to ensure those wanting to practice are given the opportunity. A fee of $20 will be charged for no shows or late cancellations. Unlimited memberships will be charged $20 from their account and a deduction of one class on class card packages will occur as if you had attended. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Check In

Our new, hands-free process lets you check yourself in from our UPLIFT APP. Please check in at least 15 minutes prior to class.

We will not be allowing late entry to class, no exceptions.

Our staff will work to get students in and out of the studio while maintaining social distancing practices. We will have markers for them behind the desk area and at our front door. We are asking them to stay in these areas as much as possible.

We ask that you avoid arriving to class early as we will open our doors 15 minutes prior to class start time in order to properly clean and sanitize. Upon arrival, please head directly to the yoga room and set up your space. You can smile, laugh, wave, dance and catch up with your UPLIFT peeps once you are on your mat!

Social Distancing

Please bring only the important stuff—your own mat, towel, water, props and a positive attitude. Equipment, props and rentals are not being provided at this time. Our lockers are out of commission, so please leave valuables at home.

Masks are required for students upon entry and exit of the studio, but are optional during class.

Floor markers will indicate safe distancing in the lobby, bathrooms and yoga room.

We're encouraging yogis and staff to limit person-to-person contact, including hugs, fist bumps and high fives. Community and love is our UPLIFT jam, but right now, this is the best way to take care of each other.

Post Sweat Etiquette

We are requesting our yoga family to leave the studio 10 minutes after class so we can begin our cleaning protocols.

Please note our coffee machine will be on vacation for a bit (we regret that we cannot partake in a hot beverage after class, it's going to be okay, we got this team).

Showers and lockers are unavailable until further notice.

Our UFAB boutique will open soon with your basic needs for class. As we add to our offerings, we ask that you avoid touching items as much as possible. We won't be allowing students to try items on before buying.

We've put a lot of changes in place with details beyond what you see here. The way our new safety process will be most effective is if we all make sure to do our part (good thing us UPLIFTERS already do this naturally).

If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID 19, please stay home for and keep our community safe. Please note that new symptoms are still being identified.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you've tested negative for COVID-19.

Better Together

As we move forward, we'll be continuing to monitor the situation.

While we're taking every precaution to keep our Uplift Yoga Family safe (and encourage you to do the same best practices), we're aware and highly prepared for the possibility of a second wave this Fall.

In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in the studio and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you'll be notified immediately.

Without a crystal ball, we can't predict the future. The best way we can prepare is to respond, grow and evolve as the situation develops, with your safety and well-being our priority.

Together we create this safe, comfortable and healthy sanctuary
